Northland, Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula and Bay of Plenty
Cloudy periods. Occasional showers in Northland but only one or two elsewhere.
The remainder of the North Island
Mainly fine, but areas of morning cloud in the west.
Nelson and Marlborough
Mainly fine. However, rain about the Kaikoura Coast for a time this morning, and isolated afternoon and evening showers inland.
Buller
Cloudy with scattered rain.
Westland
Rain, clearing south of Hokitika this morning.
Fiordland
Mainly fine with cloud increasing this evening.
Canterbury
Morning drizzle, then mainly fine apart from a few inland showers north of Banks Peninsula this afternoon.
Otago and Southland
Morning cloud, then fine.
