Match 10 - Pakistan vs West Indies - 21 Feb at Christchurch
Pakistan won the toss & decided to bowl. All but Chris Gayle got a start, rapid scoring in the later stages, 310 for 6. And then they had Pakistan 4 down for 1 run & they never recovered!! All out for 160 in the 39th.
A great comeback by the WIndies.
Match 11 - Australia vs Bangladesh - 21 Feb at Brisbane
The weather won this one, no play at all, lucky Bangladesh? ;D
One point for all picksters.
Match 12 - Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka - 22 Feb at Dunedin
Another interesting match, Sri Lanka won the toss & decided to bowl. Most Afghan batsmen got a start but didn't make the most of it, one half century & all out for 232 in the last over. Perhaps some 20 or 30 short.
In Sri Lanka's reply, the Afghans had them in a spot of bother early, both openers out first ball they faced (golden ducks), so 2 back in the shed for 2 runs in the 2nd over. Shortly after 3 down for 18 and the prized scalp of Kumar Sangakkara. The middle order then knuckled down with a century to Jayawardene, and they got home in the 49th over.
Match 13 - India vs South Africa - 22 Feb at Melbourne
India won the toss & decided to bat. One down early to a run out, then top contributions from Dhawan 137, Kohli 46 & Rahane 79, with the mid/lower order getting them to 307 for 7.
In reply SA didn't bring their A game, a few made a start, only 1 half century to Faf du Plessis, & they were all out for 177 in the 41st over.
A good solid game from the Indians.

Ooops, Missed these . . . .
Match 14 - England vs Scotland - 23 Feb at Christchurch
So the Poms against the Scots at Hagley Oval, & Scotland no doubt wanting to give a good account of themselves.
The Tartans won the toss & put the Poms in to bat, er . . . hoping to keep them down to a gettable total.
Moeen Ali seemed to want to make a statement early, reaching his 50 off 39 balls in the 13th over. He went on to make 128 off 142 balls, the backbone of the innings. Fellow opener Bell made 54 & Morgan fell just short of a half century on 46. Not much else to write home about. The Scots plugged away with the ball, Davey snaring 4 scalps & most going for 5 or more per over.
A steady innings from England, final score 303 for 8 down.
The Scots innings was, well, a struggle. Apart from opener Coetzer with a 71 no body managed more than 20 odd, & the loss of regular wickets was the tale of their endeavours. All out for 184 in the 43rd over.
An easy win to the Poms by 119 runs.
Match 15 - West Indies vs Zimbabwe - 24 Feb at Canberra
Ok, the 8th ranked WIndies against 10th Zimbabwe. The WIndies won the toss & decided "we'll bat mon".
An interesting scenario with the scuttlebutt suggesting Chris Gayle was about to be dropped or should retire. I read somewhere his average in ODI's in the 2years prior to the World Cup was around 18. Anyway, the Umpire said "play" & Panyangara steamed in, 2nd ball he had Smith out for a duck. 50 overs later Gayle was out last ball for 215 & number 3 Samuals was 133 not out. 372 for 2 wickets.
I reply Zimbabwe struggled & apart from Williams with 76 & Ervine with 52, there were only minor contributions from the rest. Taylor & Holder snared 3 wickets each, final score all out for 289 in the 45th.
So, an easy win to the WIndies by 73 runs under the Duckworth Lewis formula.
And Gayle lauds his own performance . . . (well that's worth 2 grains of salt)
