Northland to Wanganui, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Fine at first. Scattered showers developing late morning, some could be heavy and thundery south of Auckland in the afternoon.
Gisborne to Wairarapa
Occasional rain or drizzle.
Manawatu to Wellington, also Nelson, Buller and Westland
Fine spells, with a few showers mainly about the ranges.
Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Patchy drizzle near the coast. Fine spells inland, with isolated afternoon and evening showers.
Chatham Islands
Occasional rain or drizzle.
