Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Scattered showers, some heavy and possibly thundery at times.
Taranaki to Kapiti
Mainly fine. Showers possible about south Taranaki to Kapiti this afternoon.
Wellington and Wairarapa
Showers developing this morning, some heavy and possibly thundery.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Scattered showers, some heavy and possibly thundery, clearing Canterbury this evening.
Otago and Southland
Cloud and isolated showers clearing this afternoon, then mainly fine.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Mainly fine. The odd morning shower about coastal Buller.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods, with the odd shower.
