Northland to Waitomo and Taumarunui, including Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and Taupo
Remaining areas of drizzle in the north clearing early morning, then mostly fine.
Taranaki to Wellington, including Taihape
Mainly fine. A few showers developing about Kapiti Coast this morning, then spreading elsewhere this afternoon.
Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Mainly fine. A few showers about the western ranges of Wairarapa.
Nelson and Marlborough
Scattered showers developing this morning, clearing towards evening.
Canterbury
Fine, scattered showers about high country this afternoon.
Otago and Southland
Mainly fine, scattered rain inland clearing early morning. Scattered showers developing this afternoon, some heavy about eastern Otago.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Rain or showers, some heavy and possibly thundery Westland southwards.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy, with a few late showers.
