Northland to Waikato and Taupo, including Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Cloudy periods, with a few showers developing late morning easing later.
Waitomo to Wellington, including Taihape
Scattered rain, clearing from the south this afternoon.
Gisborne to Wairarapa
Mainly fine, but a few showers about the ranges for a time.
Nelson, Marlborough and North Canterbury
Scattered rain, clearing this morning then mainly fine.
Remainder of Canterbury, also Otago and Southland
High cloud increasing this afternoon and scattered rain developing from Otago southwards this evening.
Buller and northern Westland
Rain clearing early morning, then fine spells. However, rain returning later.
Southern Westland and Fiordland
Isolated showers turning to rain this morning, with heavy and possibly thundery falls from afternoon.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy.
