Northland, Auckland and Coromandel
Mainly fine, with isolated showers about inland Northland and eastern Coromandel from late morning.
Waikato to Taumarunui, also Bay of Plenty, Taupo and Gisborne
Areas of morning cloud then mainly fine, but isolated showers inland this afternoon and evening.
Taranaki and Taihape to Wellington, also Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Fine, apart from some cloudy areas this morning.
Marlborough and Canterbury
Fine.
Otago and Southland
Mainly fine with high cloud at times.
Nelson, Buller and Westland
Mainly fine, with areas of morning cloud.
Fiordland
Cloudy periods. A few showers developing this afternoon, turning to rain tonight.
Chatham Islands
Fine spells.
