Northland, Auckland, Coromandel and Waikato
Fine spells and a few showers.
Waitomo to Manawatu, also Bay of Plenty and the Central High Country
Cloudy periods with scattered afternoon and evening showers, mainly inland where some will be heavy tomorrow, with possible thundery downpours.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mainly fine, but isolated showers about the ranges from afternoon.
Horowhenua, Kapiti, Wellington and Wairarapa
Early drizzle clearing then fine spells and isolated heavy showers, possibly thundery about the ranges from afternoon.
Nelson, Marlborough and Buller
Scattered showers, some heavy inland with possible thundery downpours near the ranges during the afternoon and evening.
Westland and Fiordland
Cloud increasing and patchy rain developing towards evening.
Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Cloud breaking this morning and fine spells developing. Isolated afternoon and evening showers inland.
Chatham Islands
Mostly cloudy, rain developing this evening.
