Northland, Auckland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Cloudy periods, with a few light showers.
Waikato to Manawatu, including the central high country
Cloudy periods and isolated showers.
Gisborne to Wairarapa
Fine, apart from a few showers south of Napier mainly from afternoon.
Horowhenua to Wellington
Occasional rain developing towards midday.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Scattered showers developing, some heavy inland with possible thunderstorms near the ranges from afternoon.
Buller and Westland
Rain with some heavy falls, clearing from Westland this morning and easing in Buller later.
Fiordland
Cloudy periods, the odd shower in the south.
Otago and Southland
Mainly fine, isolated showers about eastern Otago until evening.
Chatham Islands
Mostly cloudy.
