Title: Forecast in Brief for Saturday 20th December 2014

Northland, Auckland and Coromandel
Low cloud and showers developing this morning, turning to rain in the evening.

Waikato to Manawatu, including Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Cloud increasing, and rain developing this afternoon or evening, with a few heavy falls.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mainly fine with high cloud. However, a few showers south of Napier in the evening.

Horowhenua, Kapiti, Wellington and Wairarapa
Low cloud in western areas this morning. Rain developing in the evening, with heavy falls.

Nelson and Marlborough
Low cloud and showers developing this morning, turning to rain this evening, with some heavy falls.

Canterbury
Mainly fine with high cloud.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Periods of rain, with heavy falls in Westland.

Otago and Southland
Extensive high cloud, with rain at times.

Chatham Islands
Low cloud and drizzle clearing later today.
