Northland, Auckland, Coromandel
Cloudy areas at first, then increasing fine spells.
From Waikato to Wellington, including Bay of Plenty, Taupo, Taihape and Taumarunui
Patchy morning drizzle, then increasing fine spells. Isolated afternoon showers about Taihape, Taupo and inland Bay of Plenty. Evening drizzle in Taranaki, Horowhenua Kapiti Coast and Wellington.
Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Mainly fine. Isolated afternoon showers about inland Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
Nelson and Marlborough
Mainly fine. A few afternoon showers about the Marlborough ranges.
Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Few remaining showers clearing early this morning, then fine spells. A few showers developing this afternoon, some possibly heavy, turning to scattered rain about Otago and Southland this evening.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Occasional drizzle turning to rain, with heavy falls in south Westland this evening.
Chatham Islands
Low cloud and rain.
