In the west from Northland to Wellington, including Coromandel Peninsula and the central high country
Mostly cloudy, with patchy drizzle morning and evening. However, afternoon fine spells for Northland, Wanganui, and Manawatu.
Bay of Plenty
Morning and evening cloud, otherwise fine.
Gisborne to Wairarapa
Fine and warm.
Nelson and Marlborough
Morning cloud then fine spells, scattered rain in Nelson at night.
Canterbury
Fine spells, but brief rain this afternoon.
Otago and Southland
Cloudy periods. Scattered rain this afternoon and evening.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Cloudy with patchy drizzle, turning to rain in Fiordland this morning and further north from afternoon, with some heavy falls and possible thunderstorms.
Chatham Islands
Mostly cloudy.
