Northland
Occasional showers.
Auckland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Occasional showers, some heavy with hail.
Waikato to Kapiti, including the central high country
Showers, some heavy with hail and possibly thundery.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Fine spells, a few showers spreading from the west at times.
Wellington, Wairarapa and Marlborough
A few showers, becoming frequent late afternoon or evening, some heavy with hail and possibly thundery.
Nelson
Heavy, possibly thundery showers about the western ranges, and a few spreading further east at times. Showers clearing this evening.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Showers, some heavy with hail and possibly thundery, gradually clearing from the south.
Canterbury
Fine spells. Showers developing around midday, some heavy with hail.
Otago and Southland
Occasional showers, some with hail, and snow to 600 metres.
Chatham Islands
Rain at times, possibly heavy.
