Title: Weather Banner
Post by: Yendor on November 08, 2014, 11:56:05 AM
I know this has been covered a little but I still am a little stuck. I have created a banner here
http://www.wanakaweather.co.nz/wxgraphic/wxgraphic.php?type=banner So far so good one might think but I have no idea how i actually did it now and would like to have a background image as well as be able to use it as a signature. Also would like the click here box actually do something. I am using WD 10.37R216 and have wxgraphic 6.3 installed in my upload directory.

thanks

Rod

Hi Rod

On the forum under profile-forum profile, there is a signature box. You can put what you need in there. Here's mine to work from for starters, although I don't think it currently works because I haven't put the graphic in the right place
Code: [Select]
[size=10pt][font=verdana]Cheers, Andrew[/font][/size]

[SIZE=9pt]Vantage Vue, Weather Display, Webcam.
[url=http://www.huttweather.co.nz]www.huttweather.co.nz[/URL][/size]
[url=http://www.huttweather.co.nz][img]http://www.huttweather.co.nz/site2/data/signaturebanner.gif[/img][/url]

There is a character limit in the field so watch out for that

In terms of creating a banner with an image, someone else may be able to help there. Sorry but as you see I struggle with just getting mine up!

Edit 20/11: Changed quote tag to code tag to show code - duh!

I have discovered that you need to upload the background you want and rename it to the appropriate file within wxgraphic. For me it was banner_big.php. I do not know how to tell  anyone how I place the banner in my signature field because when I type in the string I get the banner not the text. Now all I need to do is sort out the font colors to make it a little more readable.
