Northland to Waitomo, also Coromandel
Cloudy periods, with a few showers mainly from afternoon.
Bay of Plenty, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mainly fine.
Taranaki, Taumarunui, and the central high country to Wellington
Cloudy periods, with occasional showers.
Wairarapa, also Marlborough and Canterbury
A few showers spreading north during the day, reaching Wairarapa this evening, some possibly heavy.
Nelson
Mainly fine, rain about the ranges.
Buller to Fiordland
Occasional rain, possibly thundery for a time this morning, clearing this afternoon but showers returning to Fiordland tonight.
Otago and Southland
Scattered showers, clearing this evening and becoming fine.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods, with occasional showers.
