Northland to Waitomo, also Coromandel
Rain with heavy falls possible, clearing early morning then mainly fine.
Bay of Plenty, the central high country, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne
Rain, with heavy falls possible, clearing in the morning. Showers from afternoon, some heavy, developing in the afternoon, mainly inland.
Taranaki to Kapiti
Cloudy periods. Showers from afternoon, mainly inland, clearing evening.
Wairarapa and Wellington
Mostly cloudy with a few showers clearing in the morning.
Nelson, Buller, Marlborough and Canterbury
Scattered showers, possibly heavy in the afternoon about the Nelson, Marlborough and North Canterbury ranges.
Westland and Fiordland
Fine apart from drizzle developing about the fiords in the evening.
Otago and Southland
Early drizzle in Otago clearing, and becoming fine everywhere.
Chatham Islands
Occasional rain developing early morning.
