Waikato to Taranaki, and across to Bay of Plenty
Mostly cloudy. Patchy drizzle turning to rain in Taranaki this morning and elsewhere this afternoon or evening.
Gisborne to Wairarapa
Mainly fine. Brief rain in Wairarapa this afternoon or evening.
Taihape and Wanganui to Wellington
Mostly cloudy, with scattered rain developing in Wellington this morning and spreading elsewhere from afternoon.
Marlborough and Nelson
Rain developing this morning, mainly about Nelson and northern Marlborough, then clearing this evening.
Buller to Fiordland
Periods of rain, with some heavy and possibly thundery falls, easing this afternoon.
Canterbury
Mainly fine with high cloud, but rain near the Alps, and a few late showers south of Christchurch.
