From Wanganui to Wellington
Fine, apart from morning and evening cloud.
Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Fine, but cloud increasing this evening.
Buller, Nelson and Marlborough
Fine, apart from cloudy periods about Buller and the Kaikoura Coast.
Canterbury
Cloud increasing this morning, with a few afternoon showers about the foothills.
Westland
Patchy rain, clearing this evening.
Southland and Otago
Patchy rain clearing towards the afternoon and becoming mainly fine.
Fiordland
Rain, easing to drizzle this morning.
Chatham Islands
Mostly fine.
