From Northland to Wellington and Wairarapa, including Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Mainly fine. Isolated afternoon showers for Waikato and Waitomo.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mostly cloudy. Occasional rain about Gisborne and Hawkes Bay, with persistent heavier falls in the Gisborne ranges, clearing from the south later.
For all the South Island except Fiordland
Mainly fine. Morning low cloud about the east coast, and increasing high cloud and possibly a few spots of rain from afternoon for Southland.
Fiordland
Patchy drizzle turning to rain this evening.
Chatham Islands
Mostly cloudy. Rain developing later.
