Title: Forecast for Tuesday 30th September 2014

A deep low to the northeast of New Zealand is forecast to bring periods of rain to Gisborne through to Wednesday in a strong, moist southeast flow. Rain could be heavy at times north of Gisborne City, from this evening through to Wednesday morning. This watch is for the possibility that rainfall accumulations in this area could reach warning criteria during this time (for example 100mm within 24 hours).

Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Waitomo
Cloud and remaining showers clearing from the south this morning, and becoming mostly fine.

From Taranaki to Wellington and Wairarapa, also Taupo, Taumarunui and Taihape
Fine. Cloudy periods for Wairarapa.

Hawkes Bay
Cloudy and Patchy rain.

Fiordland and southern Westland
Patch drizzle, turning to rain for a time this morning.

For the remainder of the South Island
Fine. Morning frosts in sheltered places.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods.
