Northern and western areas from Northland to Kapiti, including Coromandel and the central high country
Fine and cloudy periods. A few drizzle patches from Waitomo southwards, mainly morning and night.
Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Wellington, also Nelson and Marlborough
Mainly fine, with variable high cloud. Patchy drizzle developing in northern Wellington this evening.
Canterbury
Rain about the Alps, scattered showers developing elsewhere this morning.
Otago and Southland
Scattered rain, clearing this morning.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Rain, with some heavy falls about the Westland ranges. Rain clearing from Fiordland this morning, and easing in Buller during the afternoon.
Chatham Islands
A few showers this afternoon.
