In the west from Northland to Taranaki
Cloudy periods. A few showers, clearing north of Waikato this afternoon.
Taupo, Bay of Plenty and Coromandel Peninsula, also Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Mostly fine weather.
From Wanganui and Taihape to Wellington
Cloudy periods with light showers this morning, mainly about the ranges. Rain developing about Kapiti and Wellington towards evening.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Rain with heavy falls spreading north this morning, ?possibly thundery in Fiordland.
Nelson, Marlborough
Mainly fine at first. Rain developing at night.
Canterbury
Areas of cloud morning and evening. Period of rain in the evening.
Otago and Southland
Scattered rain, clearing from the west in the evening.
Chatham Islands
Rain, clearing this morning.
