At Mahia Beach at the moment, cold blustery SW at 39.2kmph.
Rain tumbling down 25.5mm since midnight. A cracker of a hail storm at 10-30am -paddocks as white as snow.
Sea pretty nasty ,more seals ashore than seagulls at present.
Looks like the rough stuff is going to last out till late Wednesday or possibly Thursday.
Not in a panic yet as still a couple of bottles of sailors delight left (Captain Morgan)to ward off the winter despondency!!!!!!!!

Gee and we are complaining in town.
We missed all that thank goodness. Only 9.6mm since midnight here.
I was just talking to Arnold.
(Arnold is owner /operator of the Whangawehi Weather station which is on the opposite side of the Peninsula for our readers information.)
He said it has rained since around 3.00am and they have had 24mm. Not heavy but constant. He did not have that hail though.
Cheers
