Hi
Sure I started this somewhere else but search was not my friend!
Interested to know what weather apps people use
On my phone I use both metservice apps ( the normal one and the marine one)
Also use windfinder and predict wind. Between these two and the metservice marine app I pick a forecast for when we go out sailing
Also use mobile storm to pick up any lightning that might be about, and a couple of sun position apps to tell me where the sun will be at certain times of the year.(as we are looking at moving house)
Ipad has a similar mix. I don't know how I used to cope without them all :-)
Anyone else have other apps they use?

I use Weather View for the weather as I can have my station data on it :)
I also use Blitzortung Lightning

I use Weather Station, a Cumulus App which allows you to use your own Cumulus realtime.
Also Weather Bug's App again for my own station data.

A question for both of you. I've never seen the value in having an app to show your own weather conditions. If I want to check mine I go to the website. I run a mobile version of that on the site which helps.
Am I missing something here? What makes an app more convenient?

The Cumulus App is sitting as my home page both on my phone and Tab.
At a glance all the conditions are starring back at me.
Stuck on the couch as I have been for a few weeks, all I had to do was look across at phone or tab on table.
What I also like about this app is it does not change with your location as with weather bug. As soon as I hit Napier/Hasting or Gisborne weather bug gives their weather.
I prefer still to have Wairoa and the Cumulus one does that spot on.

Weather Underground is another app I have but I think its a little drainy on the battery..until I changed the frequency of updates! its cool that I can look at other people's weather sites as well! iIs handy when I am out and about.
But I mainly use the Metservice one, for most of the weather forecasting.

It shows all the essential information on the one screen (including my forecast) just a swipre sideways to get more detailed info or extended forecast. Way easier than scrolling and navigating thru a website.
Can set it to look at just one station or to 'follow' you and pick the closest station.
Very handy having it set to your own station when you are at the other end of the country - lets you know whether everything is still working or whether you need to hack in from somewhere to fix things :D
