Title: Fire Weather Index 'Issue' re Weather Display Software
Post by: JennyLeez on March 28, 2014, 11:36:34 AM
If anyone has any ideas on this one, we would appreciate.

Attached is a screenshot of the fire weather index configuration in Weather Display.
From this window WD generates the fwigraph.gif image and uploads it once a day. But in our case it is uploading it as fwigraph.giftemp.
It is not over writing the fwigraph.gif image already sitting on our server. Our question is why?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

P.S. Please ignore the fact that the screenshot is turned off. On the members PC it is turned on :)

There is an option in wd to upload files with a temp name just like the file name you have,
And then rename the file on the server. I think it's in the FTP section somewhere. I'd toggle that as a first step, and then see if you can see what is happening or not happening in the FTP upload log. Let us know how you get on

On advise. I deleted both files to see what would happen.
WD uploaded the file fwigraph.giftemp

I have renamed that and changed permissions.

It was suggested the server may not allow renaming but another station is uploading this file without any problems and on the same server.

Going on what you are saying Gabba, can that be turned off so it does not rename itself?
In other words just upload as is.

This was working fine so I am at a loss as to why this has started to happen.

Under FTP Internet setup connections . On Lhs 3/4 way down page

Rename the file on the server after uploading.
Try with that opposite to what it is now

If that doesn't work can you post the FTP log
Under view FTP log.

That will tell you if there is any attempt to rename the file on the server, and any error the server might be popping up

Cheers
