The workings of a coal mine

Something that someone made just to confuse people like me!

A very elaborate toaster

Hey I should get some points for trying!

Ok the common factor must be Stars Wars. Is this right so far iomkiwi?

Come on Babs, scratch your head some more. I have no idea cept as stated there is a wee man in what looks like Armour. Is he in a lift?
Maybe the wee man is in the star wars stage set???
Weird looking set though  :-\

I like betts answer

Question, is this somehow related to Dr Who?  A model of one of the sets?

Look at the tree bottom right, what is that all about.
Looks like it is in a pot and a miniature bonsai which is probably a big tree on the set.

Well, I have to say its a model of some sort, as no right-minded engineer would have a red cable connected to earth!

My first impression would be a model of a nuclear reactor.

Another would be a model of somehting hugely technical on a model railway set?

Common factor isn't Star Wars

tis not a model as such - rather a modification

The Borg planet

OK I am going for the oil refinery theory somewhere in this world perhaps one in the far east, apart from that I have run out of ideas.

Can we have some more clues please

The first computer that was ever built

A huge machine modified to do anything

A road building machine in China

Part of the set for Star Trek Into Darkness

A huge ATM machine

Looks like an elaborate fancical power station, (bother, when editing you can't see the image again!)
or part of one of those huge ore mining machines...

Hint on scale would be useful. If it's a real person, then that would make the structure 5-6 stories high. Is that about right?

The little man looks like he has a wooden leg so it could be Captain Ahab swallowed by a mechanical whale! I really have to stop eating curiously strong peppermints! Babs shuffles off to get the fly spray as a certain very loud fly has outlived its time.…

OK here is a really big hint

we all have one (but probably not modified as much) in fact the big dark patch on the left I think is exactly the same model as mine  ;D

....so it's a microwaved brain then?  :)

Actually I picked the pink and green connectors on the front as computer based, but the scale threw me with the model person
