Title: Local Weather Chat November 2013 Week 2
Post by: JennyLeez on November 10, 2013, 12:00:51 AM
Discuss the current or recent weather in your region or elsewhere for this week 10th to the 16th of November.
The odd shower or two bottom of the South Island and east of the north otherwise the week a head appears pretty settled.

Enjoy your week :)

Yep......it's there....!!!!
The "S" Word has arrived..  >:(
Due to a (very) cold NW wind, the relative 'warm' temperatures of the surrounding lakes cause the very much HATED snow squals...!!
See attached picture to give you an idea how it looks.....

This meant the following for our temperatures today:

Current Conditions:
Temp: - 0.2 C
Apparent Temp: - 3.1 C
Precipitation: Snow Flurries
Humidity: 56 %
Baro: 1030 mb
Wind: NW ~ 5 to 10 km/h

The first day the MAX TEMP didn't come above freezing mark....
PLEASE, PLEASE can you send some of your spring weather via the Jet Stream...  :)  :)

Keep you posted from the 'Cold North",

Cheers,

Arthur

Yes but you are conditioned to the lower temps so they would be equal :)
I liken this to my trips down to Wellington ( bottom North Island ). I always pack winter clothes as I am always cold down there. One gets climatised I guess as when I lived down there, I would cook when I came back up here :)

Tis now 12.9, the sun is trying to prevail.

the glorious weather continues.
no rain since the 2nd and temps have been in the 24°C to 29°C range every day.
after the wet September and October, giving everything a chance to dry out.

supposed to turn a little pear shaped over the weekend, but as long as it's not a return to the last 2 months I'll be happy.

and another day of gray, off and on drizzle amounting to next to nothing and a cold southerly.

If it is going to rain then I wish it would rain and at least register.
It drizzles and wets everything down. Then stops. Dries up. Then drizzles again....  and the cycle repeats. So it is not actually tipping the rain gauge bucket and hence not registering.

Tiresome.......
