Title: Local Weather Chat October 2013 Week 4

Discuss the current or recent weather in your region or elsewhere for this week 20th to the 26th of October.

Rain over southern and central New Zealand starts the week plus as the front progresses north over the country, there is a moderate probability that strong northwesterly winds ahead of it could reach severe gale in exposed places of Southland, Otago, Canterbury, Marlborough, Wellington and Wairarapa.

Port Robinson, North Canterbury 8.55am 21/10/13

High cloud cover with a brisk west to SW wind. Temperature 18.8° after a low of 15.2° and heading for a high of around 20°. Wind speed average is about 13kmh with the strongest gust in the last hour at 27.3kph. No rain over the past 24hrs.

Bit brighter up here than in Christchurch (where I've been for the weekend). Temperature 20.7° with patches of blue scattered amongst woolly clouds. Wind at 3-7kmh at the moment.

Overcast with a mixture of high and low cloud. Temperature 20.1° after a low of 16.2°. Rain forecast for later in the day. Wind from the west reasonably light with the odd gust at times with the strongest at 16kmh in the last hour.

Thunderstorm at the moment and just starting to rain. Temperature got to 23.8°, but dropped back to 19.5° right now. Wind swirling from W to SW. Highest gust in the last hour at 37kmh.
