Here is a google earth link to the lightning strikes my Boltek picked up yesterday, once you have it open in Google Earth you can isolate it down to types and time.
http://www.kerikeriweather.co.nz/lightning/210913.kml (http://www.kerikeriweather.co.nz/lightning/210913.kml)
this is only up to midnight on 21/09, most of the local lightning we got after 1am but I can't convert that to a google earth file until tomorrow
-
Lots of wind, Rain Thunder and lighting overnight, today has been c;oudy with some good wind gusts, spent most of the day putting in electrical wiring in the new extension
-
Look on the bright side Deano, you can put your feet up and watch golf all day :)
It appears it will make its way down. From the metservice - Posted today at 2pm:
There is high confidence that heavy rain and severe gale easterlies will affect Northland, Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula, western Bay of Plenty and Gisborne on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain should gradually spread south later Tuesday and on Wednesday, with a moderate confidence of heavy rain in Hawkes Bay late Tuesday and on Wednesday, then in Wairarapa and Wellington on Wednesday. Further south, there is a high confidence of rain reaching warning criteria in Marlborough and northern Canterbury on Wednesday.

A nice fine day for a change, but the wind blew for a lot longer today than was originally predicted. While we did have one or two cloudy periods this afternoon the shorts put in their first airing of the season, well the temperature was a reasonably sustained 20.6C, was even wearing the bare feet in the office this afternoon. There was a good bank of cloud along the Kaimai's this afternoon, well for most of the day actually, and that obscured the sun for the latter part of the afternoon but it was not cold despite the wind. We have had some good Wind Gusts here this week, just 53 km/hr today but earlier in the week we had two days in a row with a top wind gust of 62 km/hr. Outdoor relative Humidity managed to sneak down to 48% today for the first time in quite a few days and actually spent over 60 hours earlier in the week glued to 99%. The Barometer almost managed a day and a half of continual upward pressure but just before Midday today it ran out off puff, spent about 6 hours having an afternoon siesta and then got underway again just before 18:00 tonight.
High Temperature 20.6 °C at 14:57
Low Temperature 12.6 °C at 05:44
