Didn't need an alarm clock this morning on Norfolk Island, woke to heavy rain and thunder.  the sunny week has come to an end.
We also had a massive downpour at 3pm yesterday 21mm in just over an hour.  There are storm cells crossing the Tasman Sea

Good Morning Bett,
You sure had a lot of rain in a short time.

Just the opposite here.
Lovely sunny day on the far east coast.
Warming up from an over night low of 6.3 now 11.7°C

I should get outside before the predicted rain arrives.

Another fine start to the day (Max Temperature 17.9 at 8:33, bit like an early summers morning) but then the cloud rolled in on the North Easterly Breeze that changed from the previous South Easterly.  The sun all but disappeared for the rest of the day but was able to put in one or three occasional but short appearances during the rest of the day.  The cloud did thin out a bit from time to time and cleared off the Kaimai's some late in the day to reveal a spectacular sunset, hard to believe that the forecast for tomorrow is rain . . . we hope!  Wind direction started as an Easterly, then South Easterly, back to North Easterly and then back to South Easterly from 16:30.  Peak wind gusts of less than 6 km/hr until a short burst up to 9 km/hr a 6:00am then back to less than 8 km/hr until 9am when it started upward again to todays max of 22:00 at 12:48, remained pretty much above 13 km/hr until 18:00 and has now dropped back to between 3 and 6 Km/hr.  The barometer started the day at 1022.1 hPa, dropped to 1020.6 hPa, levelled out but then took a major dive from midday to its current level at 1015.3 hPa and still falling at 0.3 hPa per hour.  65% Min Outdoor Humidity today, more like late Winter or early spring.
