Beautifully fine and clear start to the day today with just a few cloud blemishes however the day blotted is copybook somewhat this afternoon with some quite substantial clouds blocking out the sun in the latter half of the afternoon requiring the closing of the office door around 15:00 and the search for a jumper around 16:00. No heater required in the office all for the 4th day this week. Max temperature 20.5c at 14:20 (hardly Winter is it) after yet another overnight minimum above 8.0c. Maximum wind gust of 18 km/hr at 13:15 which topped the only period of the day (10:30 to 17:00) where the max gust was above 8 km/hr. Wind direction started the day only just East of North, moved to a Southerly between 4:30 and 9:00, petered out for a while then came back as a Northerly with NE & NW variations, then turned more North East to Easterly from 18:00, looks like the next "Low of Tropical Origin" is starting to put in an appearance but yet again the forecast suggests that it will just bring Wind and Cloud. Barometer started at 1020.3 hPa, dropped to 1019.4 hPa, then staged a massive recovery to 1021.8 hPa at Midday, only to chuck it in and fall back to 1019.6 hPa by mid afternoon, a post 16:30 rally saw it get to its current 1021.3 hPa. Outside Humidity down to 60% at 15:10, just of Summer daytime levels again.
