On the day that all Horses in New Zealand have their Birthday, as did my Grandmother, the first tropical storm of the winter started to make its presence felt.  Overcast day with increasing Easterly to East South Easterly winds (Max Gust 38 km/hr at 20:27 this evening) and showers increasing in both frequency and intensity as the day progressed.  Max temp today was 13.7c at 21:01 this evening so it was warmer this evening than throughout the day, now that's both unusual and a bit weird.  Another day where the Gas Heater got a serious "On Full" workout all day in my office.  Barometer fall a bit today and quite steeply for a while but is still on 1022.9 hPa but is falling again after several hours at around 1023.2 hPa, another unusual happening as it is usually much lower when these sub tropical depressions/storms come through, guess it will drop significantly over the next 12 - 24 hours.
