Port Robinson, North Canterbury 9.15am

Wet and cold!
Raining hard, 11.4mm since midnight. Temperature 5.5° and not likely to rise much further. Strong wind from the SE with the heaviest gust of 25kmh in the last hour,
Not a day to be outside.

New Plymouth (airport figures)
6.9 degrees, 91 km/hr gusting to 128 km/hr. S to SSE
Power outages in places, some roofs off, even a fire truck blown over.
Miserable cold day, one of the worst I can recall for wind. It is constantly high and the gusts are regular and frequent.

85/120 km/hr. I cannot give you the figures for Cape Egmont as the Regional Council link to that site has gone down.
