Post by: Mark on July 07, 2013, 06:03:43 PM
Record rain leaves Pilbara drenched, with more than 80 percent of the annual rainfall in one day.

Roebourne had 224mm, its heaviest rain in 68 years and the second heaviest in over 100 years of records.

Port Hedland’s 130mm makes it 252mm so far this month, and its wettest June in more than 70 years.

Further inland at Marble Bar, 76mm was recorded, its heaviest June rain in 84 years. This recent rain has taken Marble Bar’s June total to 202mm, making this its wettest June in over 100 years. The previous wettest June was in 1968 when 168mm fell.
