As the wind subsides and the sun pushes through, the snow flurries should clear New Zealand today bringing an increase in temperatures.
Below is the low temperatures since midnight last night across our Local Stations.

the Reefton NIWA site recorded -4.2°C which is the coldest May temp since 2008, and the 2nd coldest since 2001.
it was a very good frost.
