Heavy Wind and Rain woke up many across the Auckland area last night. Power supply was also affected about parts of the Auckland region as a result of the stormy conditions.
Canterbury also bore the brunt of the full on southerly last night and it's continuing this morning..."Windy and heavy rain in north Canterbury.

Bishopdale  had a gust of 74.7km/h at 9am

Cape Egmont was just under 118km/hr reported at 5pm
