Title: 5 Day forecast widgets
Post by: TonyC on March 25, 2013, 09:23:45 AM
Morning everyone.

Until this weekend, I've had a 5 day forecast for Kaikoura (which is 60kms upstream of here) posted on my website.
It was lifted twice daily from nz.weather.yahoo.com/kaikoura/2348927 using an old dos program called Pscrape which created a html page which I embedded in a frame on my weather page. Basically it scraped the text off the page from preconfigured start and end points. Worked very well. Unfortunately they have now embedded wizzy bang graphics in amongst the text which has bugg***d it all up.

I've googled forecast widgets and for the time being am using one from http://www.weatherforecastmap.com, but it's not very configurable and I'm not sure where it's getting its info from as it varies from that from the Met service.

Can anyone recommend a good configurable widget for 3-5 day forecasts with reliable info for Kaikoura? What are other members using for their forecasts on their webpage?

cheers

Tony C.

Try Windfinder. They have a Kaikoura Forecast in table form. Usually pretty good and configureable.

Thanks,
I've had a quick look and it has potential. I see Port Robinson is listed in the dropdown list and I'll have a play with it.
