Many parts of New Zealand have now gone well over 30 days without a single drop of rain.
Here's a run down of what the regions can expect today:
Northland
A cloudless high of 25 degrees Celsius in Kerikeri today. That town got 1.4mm of rain yesterday. Whangarei and surrounding areas looking to peak at about 26C. Less than 0.5mm of rain fell there yesterday. None expected today.
Auckland
A high of 25C, not a cloud in the sky. Auckland is set for yet another scorcher and very little chance of rain.
Bay of Plenty
Much the same as yesterday, a high in most parts expected to reach 24C. In a heavy state of drought - there will be no rain today.
Waikato
Slightly cooler than yesterday, with today's high expected to reach 26C in most parts. No rain expected.
Hawke's Bay
Cloudy is Gisborne, with a high of 22. The past month has seen 19.2mm of rain but none is expected today. Highs of 22C and 21C will be reached in Hastings and Napier respectively. No rain in those cities either.
Taranaki
No rain yesterday and no rain today. A sunny, cloudless high of 23 degrees is expected in New Plymouth and surrounding areas. No rain today.
Manawatu/Whanganui
Expected to be declared a drought zone in the coming days. Palmerston North is expected to reach a high of 25C. According to the city council, less than 45 days of water remain in the reservoirs. Slightly cooler in Whanganui with 23C. No rain today.
Wellington/Wairarapa
Only 20 days of water left in the capital and no rain expected today. Sunny with a high of 21C expected. Over the hill, temperatures expected to reach 25C in many parts. No rain.
Nelson/Marlborough
Much the same as yesterday, with slightly more cloud cover. Temperatures expected to reach 23 in most parts. No rain.
West Coast
Slightly cooler on 19C in most parts. No rain expected today.
Canterbury
Slightly warmer today with a high of 22C expected in and around Christchurch. There will be some cloud about, but that does not mean any rain.
Otago
Slightly cooler across this region today, although minimum highs of 18C are still expected. Alexandra may reach 22C. No rain is expected today.
Southland
A high of 19C expected in and around Invercargill. Outlying areas could be a few degrees warmer. A bit of cloud about the sky, no rain expected to come of that today.
