It appears to be a competition between the weather forecasters and politicians as to who can inflict the most suffering in the shortest time at the moment. With the prediction of yet higher fuel prices and even bigger ones in the future, together with the cold air from Siberia, we are unlikely to see a warm front and have cold backs. It is not comforting to know that your beefburger was probably running in the 3:30 last week, or that the potatoes will more than likely be rotten on the inside due to constant wet weather, so thank heavens for tins and pasta flour. It doesn't help that half the places where you could get away from it all, are either at war, rebellion, insurrection or on-strike, so we watch the weather through the windows and play at trying to guess if it's day or night.

What a beauty RobertHH - made me smile. Thanks for that and hope the weaher improves for you - you have had it a bit rough over there this last year.

Ah well, another day and I do at least know its daytime because the light isn't on, and I can see the keyboard. The weather is unlikely to improve over the next few days, I don't mind the cold but I do object to this cloudy stuff that blots out the sunshine. I noticed a couple of pairs of legs sticking out from underneath the marsh marigold yesterday, and it was obvious that at least one pair of frogs thought it was going to be party time, but got their ardor frozen and decided to cuddle instead. The fish are all very confused by this ridiculous weather, one day its warming up and they are ravenous, but the next it is freezing and they completely lose their appetites. At the moment they are all on hunger strike awaiting the sunshine and refusing to eat until they get some. I have decided to add dessicated coconut to my bread ingredients in the hope that it will turn this place into Barbados, but if it doesn't work I am not too bothered because the coconut is really nice toasted and makes the bread keep longer. I hope that your warm summer days continue for much longer but if you have a spare one, throw it in this direction :)
