The universe already has the Crab Nebula, the Owl Nebula, the Eagle Nebula, the Horsehead Nebula and the Pelican Nebula, but now it has the Manatee Nebula.

Known officially as W50, the 20,000-year-old supernova remnant is nearly 700 light years across, covering two degrees on the sky - the equivalent span of four full moons.
The image shows the supernova in "radio" which shows as green, against the infrared background of stars and dust, which appears red.
