Went to a seminar he held at the University of Canterbury many years ago which was quite riveting.
A real character and will be missed.

It is a sad loss. We met on a number of occasions and and he visited us at home. I found him to be a wonderful character who  popularised Astronomy so well.

Thanks Deano for that sad information - that sure was a long time to be producing programs for TV.  Hee will be missed by just many people.
