Upper North Island
North to northwest breezes today, expect plenty of cloud with sunny breaks possibled during the afternoon expecially in the Waikato, Bay Of Plenty and Gisborne. A chance of a light drizzle patch or two in the evening in the west.
HIGHS: Temperature in the high teens today, low 20's in the Waikato and mid 20's in Gisborne.
Lower North Island
West to northwest breezes today, cloudy areas morning and night with sunny areas by day particularly in eastern regions.
HIGHS: Temperatures in the high teens today for most although in the mid 20's about Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa.
Upper South Island
Mostly cloudy about the western ranges with northerly breezes, the odd shower at times becoming more widespread at night. High cloud in Nelson through to Canterbury along the east coast with northwesterly breezes.
HIGHS: 16-17 from North Westland northwards on the West Coast. 22-23 in Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury.
Lower South Island
High cloud in Southland and Otago with breezy northwesterlies, a southwest change moves into Southland in the evening bringing showers then moves into Otago at night. Showers on the western ranges turning to rain in the evening becoming heavy for a time then easing later at night.
HIGHS: High teens in Southland and Otago, low 20's in some Central Otago areas and parts of North Otago. Mid teen temperatures on the West Coast.
