Title: New Zealand Snow Report October 2012.

 Mt Hutt
There was 30cm of fresh snow at Mount Hutt (245cm) on Tuesday 9th October, which is fantastic for the time of year. It wasn't the driest powder ever but it's great for helping to keep the base depth healthy. Conditions are great both on and off the runs, but expect soft spring snow rather than powder Turoa (208cm) and Whakapapa (194cm) are both open on the North Island too. Turoa was closed earlier this week due to high winds but was open again on Thursday 11th October.

NEW ZEALAND Turoa (201cm) and Whakapapa (202cm) were both closed on Thursday 18th October due to very high winds. Snow was falling on the upper mountain and fairer weather over the weekend should make for great skiing conditions

It was also snowing at Hanmer Springs this morning - and people in the hot pools thought it great with being warm and getting snowed on.

NEW ZEALAND Turoa (210cm) boasted excellent conditions for this time of year, three working lifts and sunshine giving skiers good skiing across the mountain. Whakapapa closed for the season on Monday 22nd October.
