Partly cloudy (high cloud).  Wind from the WSW at around 6kmh. Gust last hour 14.5kmh. Temperature  7.1° after a low of 4.6° Expected high is 14°.

Mostly cloudy and rather grey, with occasional light showers. Currently 8.6 C, with a light W air. RH sitting on 92%, and just 1mm rain since midnight. Glad I got the lawns done yesterday.... :)

Tokoroa - 2:30pm

A fine day with a variety of clouds around - started off pretty clear but fair weather small fluffies moved in and there are now some larger pillows around. High so far is 15.8ºC after an overnight low of 2.4ºC.  A southeast wind is averaging 15km/hr and gusting to 30km/hr.  A lovely day outside!

a cracker of a day. reached 19.0°C in the end.
some fog this morning, but that cleared so sunny skies.
a slight SW breeze throughout the day.
currently 14.2°C and cooling done quite quickly.

Feels like the middle of winter not heading into spring.
Drizzle on and off all day once again and cold over night temps as with 2.9 Wednesday night.
Daylight saving is in 4 weeks, hard to believe.

In Northland and the Coromandel expect morning rain to ease to showers at times during the afternoon, winds gusty from the southeast. In Auckland expect cloudy skies and the odd shower during the day clearing at night, thick high cloud about Bay of Plenty and in East Cape showers develop in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy along the east coast with the odd shower in Gisborne and about Hawkes Bay from afternoon. Fine about western Waikato, Taranaki and down along the west coast through to Wellington with high cloud and light winds.

In the South Island expect mostly sunny weather after morning frosts, northeasterlies pick up along the east coast in the afternoon.

Mid teens high’s for most in the North Island tomorrow however along the east coast temperatures only getting to 12 or 13 degrees in the afternoon. 13 to 14 degrees for most in the South Island although a degree or two higher about Southland, Hokitika through to Westport and Nelson.

Title: Weather not too exciting today

It’s a bit of a run of the mill day across New Zealand today in terms of the weather, no extremes either way. There are some nice warm sunny pockets out there, Nelson is having a great day and has reached 16.7 degrees recently with mostly sunny skies. On the West Coast of the South Island winds are light and skies sunny, a webcam here in Fox Glacier shows the development of a few clouds on the ranges there due to some afternoon heating which is quite interesting to watch.

Southland also is having a day with little wind and is nearly on 15 degrees. The top temperatures are coming out of the Bay of Plenty with high’s sitting on 17 degrees, it is a little breezy from the southeast there averaging 20km/h but it will be this breeze coming off the ranges to the east that will be giving a slight foehn effect.

North of Auckland skies are a bit cloudy, Northland has rain. From Kaikoura through to Dunedin the east to northeasterly breeze has picked up bringing cooler temperatures to the east coast of the South Island.

I’m looking forward to a few thunderstorms at some point to spice things up a little, early to mid next week it looks like there may be some cold upper air moving over the country so that could be a period to watch for some thundery development.
