January 2013 Some pumice has arrived here at Norfolk Island 5 mths after the eruption in August 2012

Went for a walk down to one of our ocean beaches today and found some pumice with goose barnacles growing on it, I can only assume it is also from this same eruption of the Havre Seamount. (http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/08/source-of-kermadec-island-pumice-raft-eruption-identified/)
There were small rocks of the pumice all along the beach, not huge amounts but still easy to find. It can't have been there long - it was right at the top of the high tide mark as if it came in on the last few tides ( we have had some big tides recently so if it arrived earlier it would have been above the current high tide line ). The pumice seems to be a lot more brittle than what you pick up around Taupo, it is very easy to break.
If any one wants a bit of the pumice it might be appearing on an East Coast beach sometime soon ;) - and if you really, really want a piece I brought a few home so I could send you one
Here is a link to Google Earth (http://www.flyingcarrot.com/off/Taranui%20Bay.kmz) of the site and here is a pic of the pumice.
