Have had light rain fall all night, very soggy under foot, do not expect any improvement during the day

Low cloud and fog has greeted us here this morning. A period of heavey rain before midnight and showers continue to roll through. Another yuk day in paradice  :(

Turned into a beaut day.
16.1 so far with a light breeze.

Hosing property, cars and wiping tables chairs etc down. A gritty yellow/gray colour :(

Been a showery day, general perception would be that it's been quite wet - rain total is 10.0 mm at the moment, very soggy underfoot.

Overnight low was 7.2°C, high got to 11.4°C and down to 8.8°C now

Good solid rain falling at this 10pm.
Exactly what we need to clear the air and rid our ground of ash.
Same as George 7.2 rate so far and a nice 3mm last 30 minutes or so.
Temp sitting on 9°C
Light NW breeze.

Cheviot, just over the hill has had 41mm of rain since midnight. We've had 21mm. Stopped raining at the moment.

Showers from Taranaki through to eastern Bay of Plenty northwards today, some will be heavy with a risk of hail. Also a chance of some thunder at times, winds will be breezy from the northwest. South of Taranaki through to Wellington expect cloudy skies and light winds, showers at times. Mostly dry on the east coast after morning showers clear, sunny breaks develop. In the afternoon a few showers develop south of Hawkes Bay however.

Mostly fine and sunny on the West Coast of the South Island with light winds. Cloudy on the east coast with rain in South Canterbury which will be heavy, dry areas and some drizzle north of Christchurch, in the afternoon heavy rain moves into Mid and North Canterbury, also Marlborough. Heavy rain eases about South Canterbury in the evening. Drizzle patches for coastal Otago and some inland areas with southeasterlies.

Southland will remain largely dry with cloudy periods, perhaps some drizzle in the east. Snow in Mid, South Canterbury and Otago during the day above 600m, above 700m in North Canterbury.

Temperatures in the mid teens along the east coast of the North Island, about Bay of Plenty and north of the Waikato. 12 or 13 degree temperatures elsewhere. In the South Island expect 10 to 11 degree temperatures in most places, a degree or two warmer about Nelson. About Greymouth and Hokitika high’s will be in the mid teens under the influence of a southeasterly airflow.
