Title: Falling tree knocks power to 200 Auckland homes 29th-30th July
Post by: JennyLeez on July 30, 2012, 12:47:31 AM
Up to 200 properties are without power tonight in the west Auckland suburb of Glen Eden due to the wild weather.
A Vector spokeswoman said the outage was thought to have been caused by a tree falling on power lines.
Lines workers were on their way to the scene.
Fire Service spokesman Jaron Phillips said there had been several reports of trees falling as a result of high winds buffeting the area.
Mr Phillips said they were expecting a busy night.
