Waitakere[/b]

Overcast, temperature is 11.0°C from a low of 10.6°C - a bit of early breeze, expecting the cloud will increase during the day.
Some sunshine filtering through at the moment, cloud cover a little more patchy than before but really little hope that it will clear to any great extent here.  This best of this mornings weather will be likely to be the best of the whole weekend in Waitakere I think....

Title: Saturday's national forecast
Post by: OhauitiWeather on July 21, 2012, 02:50:43 PM
A low coming in off the Tasman continues to make its way toward the North Island this morning. This means we will see an increasing chance for precipiation for the north and east with rest of the island remaning dry.

Northland, Auckland, the Coromandel Peninsula and the Bay of Plenty could all see some light showers this morning and this afternoon. The chances are fairly small at this point.

Those chances go up tonight as the low gets closer. Northland, Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula will see a pretty good chance for rain. Bay of Plenty and Gisborne will have small chances for rain.

The rest of the island should have a pretty cloudy Saturday with a few peeks of sun.

As far as the South Island goes, Southland and Otago will have a pretty good chance for seeing showers later today and tonight. The southern shore may see showers all day long.

The rest of the island should be dry, but rather cloudy.

Title: Clouds blanket much of NZ today
Post by: OhauitiWeather on July 21, 2012, 02:57:30 PM
So how is your Saturday?

Here in the Waikato, it's been a very cloudy day.  It even looked like we might get a light shower.  But that never developed.

But not all Kiwis are socked in with clouds.  It looks like the central Plateau and eastern North Island could be seeing some sunshine today.

So let us know where you are and what the weather is like by you.

Waitakere

Stayed mostly cloudy as expected, but all in all hasn't be too bad a day - temperature made it to 15.3°C and it's still mild at 11.9°C with a steady ENE breeze (gentle here but quite a lot more noticeable up the hill).
