North Island, a few showers in the west, frequent for a time. Fine in the east. South Island, rain in the west and around the Southern Alps, heavy for a time, some rain spreading across Nelson. Fine elsewhere.
Tuesday
North Island, showery in the west, a few light falls reaching the east coast. South Island, rain in the west, heavy for a time, cold and showery in the south, bringing snow to low levels, and some rain in Nelson. Fine elsewhere.
Wednesday
North Island, showery in the west, and a few showers in the east. South Island, showers easing in the west, showery in the south with snow to low levels, mostly fine in the east.
Chatham Islands
Fine spells on Monday, but rain developing later. Freshening northwest winds. Rain or showers on Tuesday with strong northerlies at times.Showery on Wednesday with strong cold southwesterlies.
