These beautiful photos have been sent to us by John of Castle Hill Station. They were taken yesterday Thursday the 7th once the sky cleared. Many many thanks John, excellent photography.

VIDEO: Train ploughs through big snow
A few days ago a Facebook reader of WeatherWatch.co.nz posted a link about a train crossing the Southern Alps and it cleared snow rapidly as it went along. It was an impressive sight.
This time we take you to the USA and a snowtrain clears the track at pace and at times the engine and plough is completely inundated.

A bit of a problem with the wind speed on the anemometer!  Lovely photos!  Idyllic shots.  And to see it cradled in the valley by the trees and the hills - great scenic shot from the hill elevation!!   Thanks for sharing!!

Good shots alright, Must have been at least a metre of snow there.
Makes the 14cm we got from the same event seem like nothing.

Absolutly wonderful photos. Just like in a fairy tale. Makes one feel like Hansel and Gretel approaching the witch's cottage. Gosh I have an imagination. Great photography. Thanks.
